Children's Friendship Group is Open for Enrollment!

We are conducting intake now for Children's Friendship Group.  We are projected to begin in May, 2026. 

Dr. Fred Frankel and Colleagues first released their evidence- based manual for social skills for elementary aged children in the early 2000s.  This program provides step by step weekly guides toward making and keeping friends through play. 

Every week for 12 weeks, we will role play and give feedback to children ages 7-11 who want to make a true friend.  Through CFG, play is the primary instruction.  

Motivation to make a friend is the first prerequisite, along with the ability to have a conversation with potential friends.  Conversations are critical for finding someone with the same interests.  Finally, each child needs a social coach (parent, grandparent or other adult) willing to attend every week (must be the same person each week) and coach their child through practice of skills and homework.  

We will be hosting in person meetings in the Fort Wayne, Indiana area.  Other groups will be online across all time zones.
