Our Story
OTP Services' guiding principles begin with the belief that everyone should have access to services that support social connection. We believe that everyone who desires relationships, whether friendship, within a family, or work-related relationships, should have access to the skills that help obtain and sustain those relationships. We understand that not every person comes in with the same set of skills and that sometimes group format is best and sometimes 1:1 learning is best. Our goal is the same - create connection and independence for those we serve. We believe in utilizing the latest in evidence-based strategies for our clients along with engagement of client social coaches to promote lasting generalization.
Further, we are committed to the BACB Ethics code and its four principles: Benefit others, Treat others with compassion, dignity, and respect, Behave with integrity, and Ensure competence. We built out of Organizational Code of Ethics around these principles and we commit to follow these in everything we do. OTP Services exists to benefit our communities. There are many ABA providers - we want to stand out for excellence, compassion, and truly making a difference in others' lives.
Our Services
Group social skills are provided to four distinct groups: preschoolers (ages 4-6), elementary age children (ages 6-11), middle and high school age children (ages 12-18+), and young adults (ages post high school to age 35). Groups run six to sixteen weeks with post group support in the form of behavioral contracts and follow up, when appropriate.
Individuals are recommended for the groups listed based loosely on age/grade and mainly on social communication skills/deficits. Group are conducted with an appropriate ratio of clinicians to participants based on payor and individual requirements.
Group Social Skills: Social Coach/Parent
Each group includes a social coach (ie., parent, grandparent, supportive adult) who receives training in how to support their child/learner. Each parent or social coach is trained on the didactic lesson presented to the participants with individual feedback provided based on their report. Parents are to generalize skills at home and in the community with their child. The format of the group is to review the previous week's homework and discuss/provide feedback on any problems. This group's goal is to be charged with generalization of the skills learned by their child/learner.
1:1 Caregiver Training
Direct training of caregivers in a 1:1 setting, utilizing ABA principles, to support their child's learning and generalization of skills. Goals are set following structured interviews/assessments as appropriate.
1:1 ABA Services for Clients
Direct services for clients are provided by BCBAs as appropriate. Currently, direct service clients are those who do not yet have the prerequisite skills to enter a group setting or those for whom the group modality was not effective. Plans to expand/market for focused and comprehensive 1:1 services are projected for fall
